Entry Level/Homeowner Open Utility Trailers
by Haulin Trailers We offer a simple entry level utility for non commercial usage in the Haulin Angle-Iron Trailers. These are fully welded highway ready utility trailers, unlike the cheap "kit trailers" that a lot of Internet companies sell. They can also be easily registered and licensed unlike the kits. We sell the Haulin to compete with "cheap utility trailers", but the quality of these trailers is not comparable. We stock single axle trailers from 5' x 8' through 6 1/2' x 12'.
Standard Features:
- Welded Angle-Iron Steel Construction
- Highway Ready
- 15" Tires & Wheels
- Available in Tilt or Ramp Gate
- Triple Angle Iron Tongue
- Dual Brake Axles on Tandems
- Self Retained Gate Latches
- 2" x 8" Wood Decking
- Wiring in Conduit
Most commonly, these trailers are used for light-duty general purpose, but the ramp gate models can easily be converted to motorcycle or ATV trailers. The tilt bed models are great for home landscaping and mulch or brush. Built in stake pockets allow wooden sides to be added easily.
Heavy Duty Tube Top Utility Trailers
by Sure-Trac The rugged tube top trailer is the more rigid, durable version of the conventional angle iron trailer. The top rail is constructed of heavy gauge square tubed steel, welded completely shut, creating a stiffer, stronger rail that can hold up to severe abuse. Every component is designed for durability. The ramp is tube framed, the tail lights are inset in steel and double as a step, the tongue jack is setback on a heavy welded steel frame, and 2" x 6" decking is pressure treated to last.
Standard Features:
- 2" x 2" Heavy Gauge Tube Rail
- Set Back Jack
- Fold-flat Tube-framed Rampgate
- Self Retained Gate Pins
- E-Z Lube Hubs
- 2" x 6" Pressure Treated Decking
- Powder Coat Finish
- Steel enclosed Step Lights
The durability of the tube top utility trailer is best suited toward landscapers, construction companies and tree service, but many consumers can appreciate the longevity and convenience, at just a little more money than cheaper open trailers. They are also easily modified with racks and sides for customization into any business.
Entry Level Highside Trailers
by Haulin TrailersWood sided utility trailers offer the convenience of containing loose material such as mulch or even just smaller cargo items. These entry level highside trailers are welded, not bolted together. Quality is right on par with the value of this trailer. Unlike trailer kits, these are highway suitable and easy to register. Standard Features:
- Welded Angle-Iron Steel Construction
- Highway Ready
- 15" Tires & Wheels
- Includes Ramp Gate
- 5/4 Board Sides
- Dual Brake Axles on Tandems
- Self Retained Gate Latches
- 2" x 8" Wood Decking
- Wiring in Conduit
These wood sided trailers are versatile. They work well as light duty landscape trailers for home owners and the ramp gate allows easy conversion to light motorcycle trailers. The wood sides make it easy to contain you cargo and minimize the need for tie-downs.

Open Utility Trailers for Sale
If protection from the elements isn't necessary, consider buying an open trailer to save money
Construction and Materials: With so many differences in styles, features and price tags of open trailers for sale, you'll need to decide what it is that you're really looking for in a trailer. If you're only planning on using it on occasion and not in harsh conditions, a cheap steel homeowner trailer will probably be fine for you. If you want a trailer that will last many years with little maintenance even through winter usage, you'd probably want to spend the extra money on a high quality aluminum trailer. You can also purchase different levels of strength and durability in steel trailers, depending on your budget and what you will expect from your trailer.
Features and Styles: Probably the biggest consideration that you'll need to make is "what size of a trailer do you need?". If you buy a trailer that is too small, you either won't be able to fit your cargo, or it may be too heavy to haul safely. Bigger trailers less convenient to manuever and park, especially in tight conditions such as in the city, through the woods or around a yard with a lot of features. Once you know what size you'd like, you'll need to decide which features are best for you. The most common utility trailers have ramp gates. This allows cargo to be easily loaded from the rear of the trailer. Another option is tilt bed trailers, which allow loose material to be easily dumped in place. Finally, you'll need to decide if you need a simple angle iron trailer, a more rigid tube top traier or a trailer with custom sides already included. Again, this is determined by how you plan on using your trailer and how much money you're willing on investing into it.
Common uses: Open utility trailers are incredibly versatile. Most owners of an open trailer find plenty of different uses for it. They can be used to run materials from the hardware store, for moving furniture or to transport your lawn equipment to a service center. They also double as motorcycle trailers, atv trailers or landscape trailers. However you plan on using your flatbed trailer, rest assured that Boyer RV has the best value trailer for the price. |
