Skidsteer and Implement Trailers
by Sure-Trac Whether you call them implement trailers or skid steer trailers, we offer the best value trailer to move your heavy equipment. The features of these trailers are only overshadowed by their quality of craftsmanship. The heavy duty ramps can withstand even the heaviest of tractors. Beavertails eliminate the problems with ground clearance. Heavy duty tie downs and front rail provide safety and convenience. Full seam welds and powdercoat finish means a heavy duty trailer that will last for years.
Standard Features:
- Powder Coat Finish
- 2" x 6" Pressure Treated Decking
- Board Retainers - Front and Back
- Rubber Mounted Enclosed Lighting
- C-Channel Full Wrap Tongue
- 3" C-Channel Stand-up Ramps
- Stake Pockets and Rub Rail
- 5000lb D-Rings
Our common implement trailers are about 7' wide between the wheel wells. This is wide enough to handle most tractors and other equipment. Lengths range from 14' long to 18' with a 2' beavertail. Most of our skid steer and implement trailers have a 10,000lb gross weight rating or are available with a 12,000lb rating.
Tilt Bed Equipment Trailers
by Sure-Trac Adding a tilt feature to equipment hauling trailers is one of the newest innovations to the market. If you have problems with ground clearance because of your low profile equipment, the tilt bed may be the best option for you.
Standard Features:
- Powder Coat Finish
- Nested Frame Design
- HD Diamond Plate Knife-Edge Tail
- 5,000 lb D-Rings
- Stake Pockets and Rub Rail
- 2" x 6" Pressure Treated Decking
- C-Channel Tongue
- 11.5 Degree Tilt Angle
- Rubber Mounted Enclosed Lighting
We stock the tilt bed equipment hauler in 18' with a 12,000lb gross. It has about a 7' wide deck between the wheel wells. This can accomodate most smaller equipment that sits low to the ground with minimal clearance. Other sizes are available, just contact us for more information.
Deck Over Trailers
by Sure-Trac DOW(deck over wheels) trailers are just what their name implies. The deck actually extends over the tires and wheels, giving you a full 8 1/2' wide trailer with no wheel wells. This provides a wide platform for any of your wider heavy equipment that just won't fit on a 7' wide trailer. Sure Trac produces the highest quality deckover on the market. The value is absolutely unmatched in any flatbed equipment trailer.
Standard Features:
- Powder Coat Finish
- 2" x 6" Pressure Treated Decking
- Drive-on Diamond Plate Wheel Wells
- 8' Rear Center Loaded Ramps
or 5' Stand-up Ramps(beavertails) - Tube Frame Construction
- Rubber Mounted Sealed Lights
- 6 HD 5000lb D-Rings
- Spare Tire Carrier
- Powder Coat Finish
- 32" Deck Height (on Low-Pros)
Deck Over Trailers come in either flat bed or beavertail models. We stock sizes ranging from 8.5' x 18' up through 8.5' x 25' and many more sizes are available to custom order. We usually stock the smaller trailers with a 10,000lb gross and the larger ones with a 12,000 or 14,000lb gross. We order most of our inventory with optional stake pockets and rub rail.

Equipment Trailers for Sale:
Different sizes and styles of equipment trailers to accommodate many different machines
We keep the largest inventory of trailers in our area. If you're looking for an equipment trailer between Buffalo, NY, Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA, we are the largest dealer with the best product and service.
Trailer Styles:Low Profile, Beavertail, Deckover, Tilt Bed... These are all terms you'll hear used in connection to equipment hauling trailers. In general, heavy equipment trailers are a lot like flatbed utility trailers, but built on much heavier chassis. Much like conventional utility trailers, there are several styles tailored to different tasks and budgets. Our standard low-profile equipment trailer or skid steer trailer has a 7' wide deck and wheel wells that sit on each side of it. This allows the deck to sit low to the ground, but limits the size of equipment that can be loaded on it to less than 7' wide. These are available in a tilt bed, which you simply release a lever to allow it to tilt and as you drive your equipment onto the deck, the weight will compress the cylinder and lower the deck back into place. Otherwise, fold down steel ramps can be used, but require slightly more ground clearance for loading. For wider cargo, the other option is a Deck-Over-Wheels Trailer. This provides an 8 1/2' wide platform (the width limited by law) to accommodate even the largest cargo. These are also available in either a tilt bed or ramp configuration.
Trailer Sizes: We generally stock the most popular size or sizes of equipment trailers. Sure Trac can build us almost any custom sized trailer that you may need. If you're equipment is wider than 7', then you'll need to go with an 8 1/2' wide deckover trailer. Otherwise, the 7' wide deck on a low profile or skidsteer trailer should work fine. The length will be determined by the size of your equipment. Getting too long of a trailer will make it harder to park and maneuver in tight spaces, so you'll probably want to stay close to the minimum size of trailer that you'll need to fit your cargo. Beavertails are generally added to the deck size, such as 20' + 5' would be a 20' flat deck and a 5' beavertail for a 25' trailer. Commonly, a 2' beavertail is used on an implement trailer and 5' on the DOW(deckover) trailers.
GVWR - Gross Weight Ratings, Payload and Trailer Weight Ratings: desc Since often the equipment that you'll be towing will be very heavy, you'll need to pay attention to a couple of key weight ratings. The most common way of categorizing trailer weight classes is by the GVWR or Gross Value Weight Rating. This number is the total maximum amount that the trailer can weight including it's cargo. You'll find that most implement trailers will weigh in between 10,000lbs GVWR and 14,000lbs GVWR, though light duty equipment trailers and heavy duty trailers that exceed 24,000lbs are also available. Payload is the actual weight of the cargo that the trailer can handle without exceeding it's GVWR. This means that you can use the weight of the equipment to back figure and decide what weight trailer rating you'll need. To determine the payload, you simply subtract the actual weight of the empty trailer(called the UVW or Unladen Vehicle Weight) from the Gross(GVWR)Rating. For example, an 8 1/2'x 20+5' Deckover Trailer has a GVWR of 14,000lbs minus the UVW of 4,640lbs equals 9,360lbs of Payload. This means as long as your equipment weighs less than the 9,360lbs, then you will be legal to haul it in Pennsylvania, New York or Ohio. |
