Open snowmobile trailers: For simplicity and price point, you can't beat an open aluminum trailer for hauling snowmobiles. Essentially an aluminum flatbed trailer, tie down rails are added and either a tilt bed or aluminum ramps allow loading and securing of your sleds. This is the cheapest way to transport snowmobiles. Optional salt shields will help to protect your equipment, but if you're trying to protect expensive cargo, you may want to consider a covered or enclosed trailer instead.
Clamshell snowmobile trailers: Clamshell sled trailers are the happy medium between protection and price. They offer an aluminum enclosure to protect your equipment, but at a very economical price point. The cover opens on hinges to allow you to load your sleds, then latches down to protect them while travelling or in storage. Most feature a tilt bed, you simply drop the rear of the deck down, drive your snowmobile onto the trailer and latch it back flat again. Also available are drive on/drive off covered sled trailers, but these are less common and a little more money.
Enclosed snowmobile trailers: Sled trailers offer a few additional conveniences beyond other aluminum cargo trailers. One of the most desired features of a snowmobile trailer is called drive on/drive off functionality. This requires two ramp doors, usually in a V nose enclosed snowmobile trailer. This way, you can drive your sled up the ramp in the back and a secong ramp in the "V" allows you to drive back off. Ski guides and tracks simplify the loading process and make it safer. Having an aluminum snowmobile trailer is also very important because steel construction simply won't hold up to years of winter salt spray as well as an aluminum sled trailer will. We offer enclosed sled trailers in a variety of sizes to accomodate any number of snowmobiles, from two to four places.
